Choose a fungal, protozoan or helminth pathogen that infects either a human or animal host. Research and discuss the following and type is up into a script for a podcast. Your listeners love how you can paint pictures of what is happening biologically, using only words, and always in 5-7 minutes. Your episode must illustrate the life cycle of the pathogen:
The different stages of its lifecycle
Whether those different stages require different contexts/hosts
How those stages appear (as though somebody were looking at a picture, instead of hearing you describe them).
Additionally, briefly describe the effects and patterns of this pathogens behavior as the host experiences it:
Describe the transmission for the pathogen: is the mode of transmission considered to be vector-borne, soil, water or air-borne? How is the pathogen spread to other hosts? What is happening at the molecular level when transmission occurs?
Signs and symptoms of disease in the host – are these signs/symptoms of infection associated with acute or chronic infections?
