Task:
After reading Chapter 12 in the textbook (Fixmer-Oraiz and Wood) and reviewing materials in the Module, watch The Invisible War (documentary).
Analyze the documentary for examples of gendered violence (i.e., gender intimidation, types of sexual harassment, hostile environment, sexual assault, and institutional normalization of violence
Write a 2-4 page paper in which you make a clear claim about gender, communication, and culture (thesis statement) that you observed as you watched the documentary. Make sure to support your claim in the paragraphs that follow by discussing specific examples from the documentary and connecting them with concepts from the textbook.
Include references to the textbook (or other scholarly resources) to explain and and support your observations about a minimum of 2-3 specific examples of gendered violence
Make sure to comment on how institutional normalization of violence occurs through communication and culture in the military
