Write an essay in which you analyze a
specific kind of newspaper article called a column. Columns are
written to persuade. Opinion pieces are written about topics that
affect us in the here and now and about things that currently interest
us.
For this assignment, you will locate a column from the New York
TimesThe column may have a single author or multiple authors. It may be
about any subject matter. The column you choose cannot be dated
prior to January 1, 2015.
The column must not be a video column or documentary, a graphics-
based column or photo essay, or an audio column. The column must
be prose.
