7NH051/52 MAN / MMHN Expression of Interest; an Integrative literature review The intention of this formative piece of work assignment is to give thought to your dissertation project in Year 2 The suggested wordage is 1000-1500 words [+/-10%] Submission date: 2pm, 3rd August 2022 Level 7 writingAn Expression of Interest (EOI) is a short summary designed to argue a case for something; in this case for an integrated literature review in a nursing related subject of your choice. Each section of this Expression of Interest will require supporting references, and a clear rationale for the Integrated Literature approach will be needed in your work. For example, when telling the reader what your literature review is intending to add to existing knowledge, you will need to include your background reading. When telling the reader about how and where you intend to search the literature, you will need to reference what guidance and theoretical framework you are utilising to do this.2. Title (What)This should be a concise description of your intended integrative literature review: Informative – tell the reader what the project is about.Accurate – do not mislead or muddle.Succinct and clear – avoid being overly complex.Try to awaken interest. Background (Why)Introduce: The area and topic; state clearly what you are interested in looking at in your intended integrated literature review. Background and context – state clearly why your intended review of the literature is required. Justify its focus by providing the context and the nature of what your review will add to understanding. Say how your investigation may differ from or complement existing knowledge, referring to existing research findings on the topic area.Aims and Objectives (How)Identify: Make clear what key question that you will be asking of the literature. Think here about ‘levels of question (Wood (2011). This is a statement of purpose about what you are trying to find out. What is the overall aim – this should match the question. For example; If your question was “What are the positive and negative effects on a person with dementia, of admission into a care home, as perceived by their relatives/loved ones?”, then the aim of your review would be; “To identify relatives/loved ones opinions on the positive and negative effects on their relative with dementia, of admission to a care home”.Objectives should tell you what you intend to include in your review in order to meet your aim. I.e. divide up the perspectives sought (in this example the positive effects, the negative effects, the different people whose views are sought). You could also include here objectives to do with reviewing the methodological quality of existing research, and considering the implications for practice and future research. You can select a particular perspective at this stage; e.g. ‘The aim is to explore Female Genital Mutilation from a feminist perspective?’ or ‘The aim is to identify the factors that are used to manage challenging behaviour associated with dementia; control, coercion or care?’5 Review Methods; A) how do you propose doing this review? Explain: Where you will look for your literature (list databases, search engines, web-based resources)What key words you might use and why. Include Boolean operators and wildcards as appropriate. What inclusion and exclusion criteria you might specify and why.How you intend to keep a record of this search. How you intend to create a data extraction table and why.B) how do you propose analysing and synthesising what you have found?
