You must start with a clear and concise question which you will then aim to at least partially answer, by completing a literature review. This can certainly be around advanced airway management, including SGA and ETT. An example could be “Does Endotracheal Intubation improve the rate of ROSC in out of hospital cardiac arrest?” Then include in the introduction, an appropriate context for reviewing the literature, establish your reasons – i.e. point of view – for reviewing the literature; You have sort of done some of this in what you have already written. Next is the Methodology of the literature search, This is where you should explain the Search Terms, Data Bases which you searched, what Boolean Operators were used and Date Ranges of your searches, Inclusion and Exclusion criteria and the numbers of Results/Returns. I would then suggest that you make a table of the papers and place this in the appendix, to save words. The table should include the Title, Authors, Sample size, Methodology, Main Outcome Measures. Now in the main body you will then review and importantly critically appraise the important themes, of the papers, which you have chosen. Critically appraising means not taking everything a face value, but looking at what is written, and evaluating it to see if it stands up to critical scientific review-what was the methodology, where does this rank in the hierarchy of evidence, what was the sample size and sampling strategy, are the results statistically significant? Etc.. Remember this is the section where the most marks are available. You then need a conclusion where you will briefly summarise the significant areas of the review and identify the gaps in the literature, making recommendations for further studies .
