These guidelines are general for everyone, not specific to any topic. Each paper should be minimum 3 pages long, double-spaced, Times New Roman, 12 point, margins 1 inch on all sides.
Your paper should address two questions related to the relevant reading and/or videos.
1. Whatisthemostimportantpartofthereadingforyou?Inyourownwordsbriefly describe the concept/information/issue you have picked (indicate page number(s) in readings when applicable or specific video we watch for class). Write about why you chose it, how it relates to your own personal or familiar experience, and whether the arguments the authors are making are pervasive for you or not. Please note that the book is based a large volume of research conducted over many years. While your individual experience matters, it does not disprove the research that is presented. Writing that you disagree with presented research is not productive unless you provide counterevidence from other academic sources. (at least 2).
2. Whichpartofthematerial,doyouthinkismostcontroversial?Thiscouldbe based on searching news or social media over at least 3 months. Describe the concept/issue/data in your own words (refer to reading pages or a specific video we watch for class). Describe what sources you are using (i.e., Facebook, Fox News, Huffington Post, etc.) and explain what makes it controversial. What are people saying for and against (use direct questions very sparingly, write in your own words). Where do you land on this issue and why?
