Tips for Writing Management Case Memos 1. Read the case and identify a key issue. As you do course readings, note which management theories or strategies apply to the issue in the case.2. Read the guiding questions for the case. These questions should help you start thinking critically about the case, and you can address the questions as you see fit in the memo.3. Imagine that you are a consultant or advisor writing to the manager of the organization.4. Keep it to 1-2 pages. Longer does not = better. Make your writing as concise as possible.5. Use the suggested memo structure:Executive Summary – The key issue, context, and your recommendation. Background – Why is the organization facing these issues? Identify the root causes.
