I was recently admitted to a masters program and need a research statement to apply for a fellowship they are offering. I will provide my resume, letters of recommendation sent to the school, and also my original statement of purpose. I am happy to provide any additional details that can help with the completion of this paper. My intention with research: I know I am interested in obtaining my masters so that I can one day develop automation software for businesses. More specifically, I hope to create an attractive accounting software that small businesses can depend on to not only teach them how to operate efficiently like publicly traded businesses, but to also add value to their closing processes (which most smaller business do not do). I am hoping this can help more businesses work toward audited financial statements which will in turn, help them obtain loans and financing to grow operations and create jobs for those with qualified skills. Use a structure that is appropriate for your discipline; if you are in a scientific discipline, please use appropriate scientific form (hypothesis, figures, references, etc.). Although technical language should be used, evaluators will come from a variety of disciplines. Therefore, make sure your key ideas and contributions are understandable to a general audience. Discuss the rationale for your studies by using the existing literature to put your work in context. Discuss the potential for the proposed activity to: advance knowledge and understanding within its own field or across different fields (intellectual merit); and benefit society or advance desired societal outcomes (broader impacts).
