Case studies from which to choose (pick 1): Elizabeth Bouvias Case on page 88-89 3rd edition
(105-106 4th edition) or Carlos R.s Case on page 150 3rd edition (182 4th edition) (we did not read
this section, but the case presents interesting ethical dilemmas)

Moral theories from which to choose (pick 2): Utilitarianism (differentiate between act and rule),
Kantian Ethics (Deontology), Ethics of Care

Your essay should explain the particular issues the case you choose raises for the views you
choose to discuss, and what advantages and disadvantages each theory has. You will need to
explain how in general the moral theories would support certain policies and actions as well as
address practical issues with implementation. Be sure that you are clear which theory you are
ultimately advocating for. Also, be sure to explain the health care issue so that it is clear what it
is and what is at stake.
