For the Birth of a Nation Film Review, you will be writing a film review based on a historical film that portrays some aspect of study from the time period of this course; either based on a true story or fictionalized. Below I have listed some options for you to choose from. Most of these movies are readily available either through an online resource such as Netflix, Amazon Prime, YouTube, Disney, or Hulu. If you have trouble trying to get one of these, films, please let me know-I will do a drive-by to your house and throw one at your porch :). You may need to do additional research for each of these films, the symbols are deeper than you think, and good analysis is needed to go past the surface when looking at the historical topic the film is portraying.
