During the final year of your programmer, you are required to develop, and maintain, a Professional Portfolio. Within your Portfolio, you must include evidence of your learning, understanding and the development of professional values which will enable you to progress to the completion of your programmer.The Portfolio is a conduit to showcase your ability to critically reflect, evaluate and synthesis your knowledge of professional values, inter professional learning and assessment skills. Evidence to support your reflections, evaluations and synthesis should come from a variety of sources such as reflective logs, your personal reflections, attendance at study days, service user and peer feedback.You will be required to write four reflective accounts that enable you to reflect on events that have had significance for you during the programmer. These should be mapped to the four platforms outlined within the NMC code. These are:• Prioritizing people• Practice effectively• Preserve safety• Promote professionalism and trust. Each reflective account should be no more than 500 – 750 words in length. You will also be expected to complete an action plan outlining how your reflections within thefour platforms will impact on your future nursing practice, knowledge and development and identify objectives for your first year as a Newly Qualified Nurse (NQN).
