Your policy brief is not a research report. It is designed to educate the reader about a public problem, identify alternative courses of action, explain the pros and cons of these actions, and recommend what to do. The following scoring rubric will be used. Note: Half of all points will be given for content. The other half will be given for how easy your brief is to read. The policy brief should be no more than about 2,250 words long including an executive summary that does not exceed 300 words.
Define the public problem (5 pts) You will be graded based on how well you identify your problem and explain why the problems is of public significance. You need to use data to highlight the problems significance. Do not just present the data. Explain why the data are important.
