Often one of the best learning outcomes of a course such as this is the ability to relate the materials learned in the classroom to personal life experiences. Learning about management style, etc. allows students to explore his or her own inner feelings and experiences. It also allows students to better empathize with the experiences of those who may one day be subjected to the students management style and technique.
In this assignment you are being asked to reflect on your own experiences and responses to management styles which you have experienced.
The following questions are provided to help you in thinking about this term paper and reflecting on your own experiences. Remember to apply what you’re learning from the book and/or credible outside resources to support your points. Apply at least two reading quotes using APA format in your citation and Works Cited at the end to support your submission.
Describe one or more of your experiences as an employee?
What was/were the style(s) of your supervisor(s)?
Would you describe them as scientific? Humanistic?
Provide examples of the things your supervisors did and references to our textbook to support your assertion that your managers practiced a particular management style.
What methods were used to motivate you?
How did you respond to the various styles you have been subjected to?
Were any of the methods ethically questionable?
What could your supervisors have done to improve aspects of your work or performance?
Did the supervisor(s) seem to have thought much about their management style?
Did they seem to consciously adhere to a particular managerial school of thought or appear to be winging it? Give specific examples.
How was conflict dealt with in the organization? How was power structured?
