The Wechsler Intelligence Scales is the most commonly used for cognitive assessment. The Wechsler Adult Intelligence Scale (WAIS-IV) is designed for individuals aged 16 – 69 and the Wechsler Preschool and Primary Scale of Intelligence (WPPSI-IV) for children aged 2 – 6 are included in the series of three intelligence scales. In addition to the Wechsler Individual Achievement Tests that are designed to measure academic achievement. We will look at the Wechsler Intelligence Scale for Children or WISC-V which is utilized with children aged 6-16. Read chapter 10 pages 210-216 and additional information available online to complete the Assessment Review.
