Because all faculty members are expected to sign the Statement of Faith, please provide a written response to the statement. This response should reflect your own beliefs and faith practices, and should indicate to what extent you are in agreement with the university’s Statement of Faith.
As a Christ-centered university, there is an intentional effort to integrate the Christian faith within each of the disciplines. As you think about your discipline, how will you integrate your faith with the content of your discipline?
After reading the Mission Statement and Statement of Faith please describe how you see yourself fitting with the mission and purpose of APU. What do you find most attractive about working at APU? What do you see as your major contribution to furthering the mission of the university?
Describe your relationship with Jesus Christ and your level of participation in your church/faith community.
1. I agree with the university’s Statement of Faith and will gladly sign it. I find that my faith is an integral part of my discipline and I enjoy finding ways to integrate it into my work.
2. I see myself fitting in well with the mission and purpose of APU. I find the Christ-centered focus to be attractive and I believe that I can contribute to furthering the mission of the university.
3. I have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and am actively involved in my church/faith community. I have had experience working with people from diverse backgrounds and have found that I respond well and learn from these experiences.
4. I believe that my strengths as a teacher include my ability to engage students and my passion for the material. I plan to address my weaknesses by continuing to develop my teaching skills and by seeking feedback from colleagues and students.
5. I believe that my strengths as a researcher include my ability to think critically and my attention to detail. I plan to address my weaknesses by continuing to develop my research skills and by seeking feedback from colleagues and experts in my field.
6. I believe that my strengths as a counselor include my ability to build rapport with clients and my genuine care for their well-being. I plan to address my weaknesses by continuing to develop my counseling skills and by seeking feedback from colleagues and clients.
7. I believe that my strengths as a preacher include my ability to connect with my audience and my passion for the Gospel. I plan to address my weaknesses by continuing to develop my preaching skills and by seeking feedback from colleagues and church leaders.
