Overview:
Concept clarification, also known as concept analysis, is important when considering nursing theory. Concepts are the foundation of theories, and they define the main ideas used to create the relationship of these concepts in the theory. Think about the house built on sand vs the house built on rock. The foundation must be stable!
Concept analysis: This is the process of providing clarity to a definition of a specific topic.
o Examples of a concept to analyze could include any type of concept like chemo brain, thermoregulation, holistic care, forgiveness, grief, or chronic fatigue.
