Organize part I of your term paper (type-written, double spaced between 5 to 7 pages) into the following sections:
Defining the problem:
a. State your research question.
b. State the significance of this research question.
Literature review and generating hypotheses:
a. Establish the relationship of problem defined in part 1 to an established theory.
b. Conduct a literature review. See below.
c. Generate two hypotheses from the literature review. These are your own hypotheses derived after the literature review is completed.
d. State the null and the alternate hypotheses for the two hypotheses you have generated under 2c.
Conceptualization and measurement:
a. Identify independent, dependent variables, control variables (if stated in the hypothesis) for the two hypotheses you have generated.
b. Provide a nominal definition for each variable stated in the hypotheses you have generated.
