What are you learning from this book? How does it link to the themes or to the generalized history of ethnic or racialized immigrant groups that settled in the United States? Is it a contemporary story, or is it set in a specific historic period?
For your second post make any comparisons or contrasts to one or more of the books that your classmates are reading with the immigrant story that you read–similar themes? similar immigrant experiences? or something you notice that is strikingly different? If you have any specific questions for one of your classmates, be sure to respond to their first post, and answer any specific inquiries that your classmates pose for you.
