Is sexual victimization associated with substance use?

Here is the sample SPSS my professor put on canvas:
Statistical Plan (SPSS)
The proposed study will attempt to answer the research question; Is sexual victimization
associated with substance use? A power analysis using G*Power (Faul, Erdfelder, Lang, &
Buchner, 2009) will be performed a priori to obtain the needed sample size for the correlation
analysis and the multiple regression. The data analytic plan includes the examination of a
correlation matrix and a subsequent regression equation. This is appropriate for testing bivariate
associations (correlations), and also for predictors of a dependent variable (regression). First, a
correlation matrix will be examined to assess the expected positive correlation between sexual
victimization (SES scores) and substance use consequences (SIP-R scores) (Hypothesis 1). Next,
a regression equation will be used to examine negative mood regulation abilities as a predictor of
substance use. Specifically, higher scores on avoidance of negative emotion will predict
substance use above and beyond sexual victimization (Hypothesis 2)
