5) Do I have a clear and explicit thesis in my introduction?
Your final essay will be an argumentative essay with a research component. You will
select one of the suggested topics or select your own topic and refine the topic to a
specific ISSUE (the more specific the better) by finding a news article. This news article
should be from a reputable or major news network. The news article will present the
specific issue your essay is about and your issue should relate to Society or Politics,
broadly construed.
