Outline a theory of democratisation covered by the module, and evaluate its relevance in explaining political change in TWO countries of your choice. At least one of the chosen countries should be from Southeast Asia. If the second country is not from Southeast Asia, then it is strongly recommended that it should be from within the wider Asia region, for comparability. The theories/schools of thought covered in the module are modernisation theory, the social forces tradition, transition theory, and peaceful resistance research.
