Note- This case of fight 191, was one of the most tragic fights in history with 273 people dying. It marked a moment when their faith in the safety of airline travel was abruptly shattered. It put a strong confirmation on the end of the DC-10 being used for passenger transport. This accident highlights human error and maintenance problems throughout the industry. The crash also led directly to the creation of a voluminous regulation known as the Instructions for Continued Airworthiness. These rules completely changed the way airplanes were maintained in the United States.
