Should contextualize the target paper’s view – “what is known.” Use 3-4 sources to hone in on what led to this hypothesis and experiment.
Middle paragraphs: Should concentrate on findings and how they relate to other findings. You’ll have to find outside sources. Were there any issues with the methodology? Talk about strengths and weaknesses of the methodologies and conclusions they made. Does the data support the hypothesis? Say why methods/conclusions were strengths and why they were weaknesses. If a weakness is identified, make a suggestion on how to improve it, and explain why you made this suggestion. This is an important part of the paper. I have to state how and why I’m making this improvement!
Last paragraph: Summarize the paper by talking about its conclusions and where the field is headed. What is the significance of the findings, and where do you see the field going in the future? What kind of future research can be done to build upon this study, etc? Maybe more practical applications…
