What is the network of returns that your company offers to employees?

Select a company which which you are familiar (one you work for currently OR one you may aspire to work for OR one where a family member works). Using your own knowledge and available information (company intranet / internet) etc.

1. From CH 1: What is the network of returns that your company offers to employees? What “returns” would you like your company to ADD in order to increase the performance of people in your own group or department? (hint: see exhibit 1.4)

2. From CH 1&2: Based on information you can find, which policy issue of the four (internal alignment, external competitiveness, individual contribution, management) in the PAY MODEL do you think your company is MOST in tune to? LEAST? Why? Provide quotes, experiences/evidence, etc to support your answer. (hint: see exhibit 1.5, pgs 22-24 & exhibit 2.8 pgs 55-57)

3. From CH 2: Finally, try to infer your company’s compensation strategy based on what you’ve noted above. What business strategy does it seem to best “fit” (i.e., cost cutter, customer centered, innovator, or something else)? Support your answer with information and evidence. (hint: see exhibit 2.3 45-47)

Clearly integrate material such as required and supplemental course content, when appropriate (make sure you are using proper citation methods for your discipline when referencing scholarly or popular resources).
Display a master of terminology and other vocabulary utilized in the chapter reading.
Do not just post a stream of conscious response. Take the time to make a thoughtful, impactful post that you are confident will demonstrate to me that you’ve read the course material.
