1. Stoic theology
What is the Stoic conception of god? How does it differ from other conceptions of god that people have held? Pick one (or more) of the Stoics arguments for the existence of god, and explain how the argument works. How might an opponent of the Stoics such as Alexinus or a Sceptic like Sextus Empiricus object to this argument?
For this the main source we will use is a book that I will upload in pdf form. You only need to pick one person at first. I was thinking Chryssipus and then compare to another one, say Epicurus. I will also upload materials for the Epicurus parts. You can find the objections from Sextus in the stoics readers as well. I am a really good writer, and known by my teachers to be so, although you cannot tell here, so don’t be afraid to make it sound your best. I really appreciate your help!
