First, write a brief paragraph summarizing your understanding of CAM based on the textbook and any additional courses. Then, research the ways that individuals attempt to prevent the contraction of COVID and the ways they are addressing the symptoms of COVID through CAM. (Despite the fact that it is not recommended). Consider: Why would Americans use CAM, even when a governmental organization discourages it? I encourage you to include articles, videos, and/or podcasts to bolster the argument that you create and to share with your group.Search entries or author HELPFUL TIPS FOR PROJECTFor your initial post: Answer the prompt explicitly. Make sure that you are first and foremost answering the prompt directly. For example, if the prompt asks you for to discuss an aspect of the consequences of living in low income neighborhoods and health outcomes, then define what an these terms first is first and then link the concept to the social determinants, which effect health outcomes. This is the first thing that I look for when grading discussion posts.Use vocabulary and language found in the textbook. Part of learning a new subject matter is to learn the language and vocabulary around this new subject matter. I want to know that you understand what social medicine and health inequalities mean, for example.Incorporate material from other chapters. I want to know that you can link basic information about health to a later key themes we will cover, such as lived experiences, health outcomes, the consequences of COVID. Think outside the box! For many years and in many contexts, you have likely been asked to write papers and answer questions on tests that just repeat what you have already learned. I want you to practice your creativity and critical thinking. Ask yourself questions like, “In what contexts might we see the similar/different social processes playing out?” or “What different circumstances might we see similar/different outcomes?”You are welcome to include personal experience or outside sources after you have answered #1 and #2.
