What your Annotated Bibliography should include, specifically? Include 5 papers related to your chosen research topic. Ideally this should be the research area that you plan to do for your dissertation project on, as these sources may inevitably form part of your introduction/rationale for your ethics application. However, if you have not yet chosen a topic area, please do not worry, simply decide on an area within forensic psychology that interests you. For example: ‘exploring predictors of cyberstalking’; ‘attitudes towards mentally disordered fire setters’ etc. These papers must be from appropriate academic sources (e.g., peer reviewed journal articles). These sources should not include literature reviews (e.g., narrative review, systematic review, meta-analysis or meta-synthesis), books, or dissertations. The Outline/Structure of your Annotated Bibliography: 1. In your first paragraph explain your research idea/area/question (E.g., what is the rationale of your research? What is the research gap?) 2. From your second paragraph onwards, include a brief summary and critical evaluation of each paper in turn and how it relates to your research area. 3. Include a final concluding paragraph. Here you bring all your articles together in a summary, highlighting what key aspects you will take from previous research to inform your own research. E.g., What is missing? What needs to be addressed in future research? What are the main points you’ve included in your critical evaluations? What are the implications for this?
