Given assessment instructions:For this course’s assessment you will produce a research paper critically exploring one of the themes of this course. You will deploy one of the approaches from the first portion of the course – i.e., postcolonial, critical geopolitical, feminist, decolonial – or a mixture of these, and utilize learning from the historical and contextual background in part 1, to further explore one of the subjects of part 2 of the course. This includes the course topics from weeks 7 onward The purpose of the assessment is to further develop your own interests within the context of the course. Therefore, approach: critical geopolitics. Topic: conflict and violence (War on drugs in Philippines)This essay/research paper should look at what insights can the critical geopolitics approach in geography can bring in understanding and analyzing war on Drugs in Philippines. Some points for consideration are to what extent is the war on drugs an internationally infused problem; even though critical geopolitics concerns itself with power relations and mechanisms of interactions between different countries, maybe some of the methods of analysis, perspectives on power, etc. can help in understanding power dynamics on national level.There should be some explanation of what is critical geopolitics, explanation of what kind of conflict and violence this is (mainly urban? structural violence?)
