Paragraph 1: Briefly summarize the chapter you selected to research further. Include citations from the textbook and any supporting materials. Explain what type of diversity is being described. A sentence in this paragraph may look something like this..”In Chapter X, the protagonist learned …… through the experience of ……..” (Author, date). and/or “In Chapter X, the diversity topic being discussed was gender identity, which is an issue that has increased in google searches 973% over the past 10 years (Jones et al., 2022).
Paragraph 2: Summarize the diversity component in your own words with supporting details from the readings and independent research you conduct. Include at least one current issue in that area of diversity (for example, in cognitive diversity, one current issue is countries using genetic testing to reduce populations of people born with Down Syndrome). This must include citations (see example above for what citations may look like!)
Paragraph 3: Explain your personal connection to the diversity component- did you select it because it was new information for you? Were you surprised by your research? Is there a diversity component that especially interests you or you feel connected to?
