The paper will essentially be a condensed history of that tribe, from at least the 1700’s to the present. Make sure to cover these topics:
Origin of tribe and original lands
The tribe’s participation in any wars (Revolutionary War, War of 1812, any other conflicts)
Two Treaties or Acts that affected the Tribe
Customs, Traditions, Beliefs, Way of Life
Naturally incorporate at least one specific tribe member into your paper. This means if you’re talking about wars and the Shawnee (not eligible for this paper), you may naturally talk about Tecumseh, who fought against landgrab perpetuated by the United States between 1809 and 1811.

QUESTIONS
Will I get deducted points if I go over 8 pages?
6 to 8 pages, double-spaced, comes out to about 1500 to 2000 words.
Yes, you will be deducted points if you fall below or above that range. Practice editing if you are going over the page limit. The skill of writing is largely tied to the skill of editing. If you are going under, expand on one of the topics.
I’ll add more questions to this section if and when students ask them of me.
